Rachel

Rachel is a tutor for all K-8th subjects and for high school level math (algebra 1, 2, geometry) and English. She lives in Hermosa Beach and will go to the cities of Redondo Beach, South Torrance, Rolling Hills, and Palos Verdes. At 24 years of age she has an ideal personality for tutoring, bringing plenty of enthusiasm, positive feedback, and patience to each lesson.

Education and experience: Rachel has been working with kids since she was 14 years old...as a camp counselor, swim instructor, tutor, and classroom instructor. She is currently a student teacher for a 1st grade class. She's been tutoring privately for 5 years and recently worked for Study Hut in the South Bay from 2010 to 2011.

She is currently pursuing her multi subject teaching credential and will begin teaching grade school in the fall of 2012. She received her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Oregon and is currently enrolled at CSULB where she will complete her masters in education in 2012. Her GPA of 4.0 in this program reflects her great work ethic.

In her words.."I have worked with kids for 10 years and love what I do. I enjoy working with children and families, and have chosen to become an elementary school teacher. I am currently working on my credential and masters in Education at California State Long Beach. My experience includes 5 years of tutoring, small group tutoring, classroom experience for the grade school age group, giving swim lessons, running summer camps, and developing a youth program for Habitat for Humanity."
