  Maria-Elena recieved her B.A. in computer information systems from DeVry University in Long Island, New York, in 2002. It was here that she got her start in tutoring...helping students with their courses in algebra, calculus, English, speech, science, chemistry, and physics from 1999 to 2001. She also tutored computer related subjects such as Computer Basics, Visual Basic and C ++ Programming, Software troubleshooting, and Hardware maintenance. Since graduating in '02 Maria has worked in the field of computer information systems and has tutored math, science, English, and Spanish privately in the evening and on weekends. She has recently made adjustments to her schedule to allow her tutoring day to begin at 4pm on weekdays.

  In her words..."I strongly believe that no matter what a person feels inclined to want to understand, they are capable of withdrawing out of themselves a capacity to understand what is knowable. My focus is to withdraw the inner skill and confidence from each of my pupils. Any subject can be mastered with concentration and a light-hearted attitude. That is why I always ask the student questions and personalize the subject material to match the way they learn. Whether the student hates the subject with a passion, desires to be the head of their class, or both, private lessons can introduce a new refreshing perspective to learning. And since no subject is outside the sphere of knowledge, I promise always to help them."
